Eli Eli lama sabachthani "My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?"

Updated on August 26, 2013

A tiny soul softly crying under the rabble

Help.. Help me please.. Anyone there?

Struggling to lift up a heavy brick that is bigger than his body

He was stuck

Bleeding

but resisting the cage .

Eli Eli lama sabachthani

He cries as Jesus of the Bible

In his final trail

How could you let such blue eyes,

colors of the dark winter skies

to deflower our lands

and disfigure the Holy Land

Aren't we Semites?

Chosenits ,too??

Aren't we humans

entitled to live and thrive

like others?

Aren't we a piece of the puzzle?

In this world,

Do we belong?

Where do we fit?

Is it all mapped out?

Across the borders

you want us to head

leaving behind

A sweet home,

Olive trees,

A tire swing,

A small sand pit,

A slide

Chirping birds

A Morning breeze

A Memory.

Carrying bags

Snapshots

to all directions

you want us to be

Rolling down streets

like empty half-crushed soda cans

pushed by wind,

adding colors to the stripes of yellow and white.

Leaping from a cliff to cliff

In a last-ditch to take off to the sky

like a falcon

pulling by a string.

Up here in Gaza Strip

A new concentration camp

is made under your watchful eyes

O Humanity!!!

We stand mountain high alone

facing covert operations

"Cast Lead" "Pillar of Fire"

Venomous plots

and Apartheid regime

No way out,

No way in

But Stars of David occupying our lonely sky

roaring like thunders

lighting the sky

downpouring hate

with Hell-fire missiles

No moon to see

in our celestial sky

but lights

under fire

in the night

decorating the massacre

no sun to see

but shades sheltered in obliqueness

intensify in the daylight.

dreams are chocked off

and thrown as a core to the street.

Eli,What holds that huge black bird up

what bears its weight

He returns to his soliloquy

How I wish I had a slingshot or a trap!

Somebody must shove his fists into this new Chinese wall

and knock it down

There is nowhere else but here.

Zionist empire errected impenetrable walls

to cover on its ethnic cleansing crimes

There is no extra time but this moment

Up here in Gaza's alleyways.

We are dying in silent

Sighing

Moaning

as I am pushing this brick away from my chest

You must fight

and see us

despite all the lies dangled before your eyes

planting olive trees not bombs

peace not terror

We are all WE not THEY

our skin is stolen

by an ancient killer to create a new face of old drum

You must see

and stop reverberating with joyous accounts:

Jesus's prophecy has been fulfilled

I am Christian too

The wrath on me too

It is not time to talk about prophecies or hide behind a cross

It is time to speak aloud

against the Zionist atrocities

and say Halt ,We need peace on earth.

We need it now.

      Thanks so much Lady E,

The Messenger of God,Mohamed peace be upon him didnt have final trial. He died natural death and we believe that Jesus didn t have final trial. If you wonder why I used here then "Eli Eli lama sabachthani" phrase. It s because I wanted to say that not only the wrath of Israeli attack was on Muslims but on Christians too.Arabs there are Muslims and Christians.

My favorite section was this one:

      "A sweet home,

      Olive trees,

      A tire swing,

      A small sand pit,

      A slide

      Chirping birds

      A Morning breeze

      A Memory."

I thought U2 was a nice choice too.

It is a tragedy that the land considered holy by so many is the setting for so much war and injustice. Thank you for writing about such a poignant, difficult subject. I wish peace to you and to those you speak of.

Oh.That s so much.Thank you very much my dear friend Debbie.I really appreciate what you did.You are so sweet.Any war in any place .Kids are the real victims. The ones who pay the heavy price .It violates every right of a child ,the right to life, the right to be with family and community, the right to health, the right to the development of the personality and the right to be nurtured and protected.Modern wars are exploiting, maiming and killing children more callously and more systematically than ever.

      Many Blessings.

      James.
