Emptiness (wish you were here...)

Updated on July 25, 2016

Just because I'm breathing doesn't mean I'm alive.

The sun had flown away
And the moon is now dead
What curse has befallen me
That left my life hanging on a thread.

My heart refused to beat
And pain is softly killing me
Dragging me to the inner depths of despair
Where only silver eyes could see.

Broken spells and hollow dreams
Imprisoned me on my own cell
Wishes and chants
Are nothing in this empty shell.

Clouds do forget
And sky do vanish
Darkness veils my heart
Where loneliness cannot perish.

Love turns to hate
As the sea turns to wave
How can I find my way out
In this scary and unending cave.

For this last time I wish
Colors won't fade
As I find my peace
In heaven where I am laid.

Great poem - I love the last line where peace at last is found in heaven. No more darkness or loneliness can befall and the captive is set free.

Unknown spy...interesting poem...do I detect that you have become a prisoner of your own mind/body and soul ? The poem is well written, but I am concerned for.. you appear to be in a not so happy place..begone negativity, set this prisoner free..

US, I do believe you might have given Edgar Allen Poe a run for his money on this one except for last verse. I don't think that poor man ever found the peace that you portray so well at the end.Voted up and beautiful.
