...Encroachment... poetry by Carole Anzolletti

Updated on January 14, 2015

The night falls
In slow shades
Of blue and gold

Fragments of life
Drift and fade
Return to the grave

The night leans
Breathy and cold
In sheets and warmth

Fragments of dreams
Dip and crouch
Return to the edge

The night slips
In neutral gear
On hills and lanes

Fragments in gold
Leaves and vines
Crawl up the walls

Whispers of the Goddess by Carole Anzolletti
