End Of The Day

Updated on March 11, 2010

Note from author

Just to clarify this poem was written by me and belongs to me. I notice its getting flagged as duplicate content but I would imagen that is because I have profiles on various writing sites (urbis and helium ) under the ID  'Libertine' and a personal blog which all contain my work. I will be uploading my other poems in due course and hope if you havent come across them before you will enjoy them x

At The End Of The Day

The one overwhelming,

gut-wrenching,

soul obliterating ,

crucifying sensation

I am left with.

The one killer.

The one sharp stab,

the twist between the shoulder blades .

The one heart breaking cry,

haunting,

as I lay me down to sleep .

The one nauseating

Toxic stench; of

industrial corruption.

Comes contaminating

every living, waking breath

of me, of you,

for as long as we both shall live.

Tainting every action I make.

Dulling each glory I am bestowed .

Crushing all offers of trust

with an iron fist.

Denying any future.

Distorting the past.

"Toxic stench; of industrial corruption". The song "What's Going On" comes to mind and "Mercy, Mercy Me". Nice poem. I had my stuff on a website that I pay for, my private or personal site. It was flagged. The "editors" here rarely if ever (not seen it yet) help. Their job is to make some bread and hassle I think. Thanks for the hub.
