Enduring and Endearing ( a poem by Whonunuwho)

Updated on June 14, 2014
a stormy life
a stormy life
weathering each storm
weathering each storm
Tomorrow is a new day.
Tomorrow is a new day.
A bright new day
A bright new day
Beneath celestial skies
Beneath celestial skies

The beginning of life, and this, as we may know it,

the start of true love, to be ours, if we show it.

The cradle to the grave, to be a long road ahead,

with gentle steps, to be taken, as further we tread.

As each day is so lived, and as a beginning, anew,

then, with all that we say, in all that we do.

A far more precious gem, now is given to us each,

sharing with loved ones, all that we may reach.

Beyond the celestial realms, as together we trod,

from a source of our being, from the earthen sod.

Traveling the farthest reaches of an infinite space,

to approach, in nearness, of our God's holy face.

We must each endure this hard life, at our hands,

as heavenly stars, number greater than the sands.

We shall receive precious life's greatest treasure,

an endearing design, a fine gift without measure.

What a lovely poem about life's journey, whonu. Purpose is the motivation of life. The end to the means is eternal.

This is a sweet poem about love that always remains fresh and new through all types of experiences. I love the way the birth of a child is described. Wonderful, whonuwho:)

You know, I read this when it first came out, and was going to make a comment, and then, of course, got distracted and darned near forgot about it. Happily you commented on my hub and that reminded me, and I agree, this is a lovely poem with a meaning that applies to all of us.

I like your title, and your poem does justice to those two concepts. Good read!

Very beautifully written. This helped so much today with all the running around I had to do. Life should be about enjoying every minute and loving those who are in our circle and praying for those outside the circle.

I love all the photos you have chosen..just amazing!

May God continue to bless your heart and allow these beautiful and profound words to continually flow. Shalom

Life is so wonderful when we make the journey including our loved ones and friends who support us. From cradle to grave, life is so much richer when we keep focused on what is important in life. God bless you.
