Energy - God's Gift of Energy! (Poem)

Updated on February 11, 2014

God's Gift of Energy

When I close my eyes I can be anywhere and receive God's gift of energy.

Energy, it ebbs and flows in me

Like the rolling of the sea

It flows in, washing over me

Then ebbs right back into the sea

When tides of energy rush in from the rising sea

It ebbs away the negativity

And leaves only positive energy

To recharge the soul, entrusted to me

So.. When I think that I can't see

Everything that I am meant to be

I close my eyes, and in my mind I 'm walking by the sea

That allows the positive energy to flow again in me

Then I know from the renewed strength

That renewed the energy in my soul

And, will help me reach my final goal

To be all I am meant to be, right here by God's sea

Beautiful! I've often been inspired to write with the ebb and flow of the sea as metaphors, though they're foreign to my personal experience. Their power and energy are so apparent, as you've captured.

If you've never run across Anne Morrow Lindbergh's book, "Gift From The Sea", I think you'd appreciate it.

Beautiful indeed! I used to live by the sea when I was first married, and remember closing my eyes and listening to the sounds of the waves and the Seaqulls' squawks. It was energizing!

      Up and more and sharing

      Blessings,

      Faith Reaper

Beautiful! I don't know if you intended it, but I believe there is a lot of depth beyond the obvious in this poem.

Voted up, BAI, and will share! Also, pinned to Awesome Hubpages.

Nellieanna, thank you for the compliments and comments.

I have not read Anne Morrow Lindbergh's book, but I have made note of it and will look for it on-line and see if I can find it. Thank you for the suggestion.

My, but you've gotten a lot of comments on this poem already! And it is excellent. I really enjoyed it and I'm voting it up, and beautiful/awesome and sharing.

Did you know it takes a while before the votes show up? I don't know why.

Have you seen Au fait's question? Don't mean to impose this on your article - you can delete this if you like. It's under "Explore-Answers-Family and Parenting." I'm thinking on my own answer as it's not a light question.

Thank you Devika, for your comments and voting this up. The sea does have that affect/effect on people, or at least most people, probably animals too.

I sure do need some energy right now. This week is nearly over and while I have gotten a lot of things done that needed to be done, there are still so many things still waiting . . .

You write such great poetry. Sometimes beautiful, sometimes funny (not this one, but others I've read). I really look forward to your next one.

      Voted up, BAI, and shared.

      Dear Shyron,

Hoping you are starting to feel better...transitional weather can wreak havoc on us.

I am also 'grounded by the wonders of the sea'. There is something about realizing our role in the bigger scheme and the sea can do that for me.

There is something about your writing that brings me energy and peace.

Beautiful work...voted UP and UABI. Love, Maria

I could use some energy. Perhaps then I could get something useful done. This is a lovely poem and I can feel energy flowing as I read it. The cooler temperatures give me a little bit of energy and hopefully there will be more as it cools down enough for my brain to start working again . . . ;)

Hope you're having a great evening. Hugs and blessings to you both.

I hope all is well with you, Blessings and Hugs

Very hard to get the energy to do anything when it's so cold. Thought I would freeze las' night and it just wouldn't stop raining. Think we're in a time warp and we just keep going around and around with this rain with no end in sight. Gonna be flooded out of here before much longer.

Hope you guys are staying in where it's warm and dry. Blessings and hugs to you my dear friend . . .

Au fait, thank you for the comment.

I know we can't just get the rain as needed, it seems it is flooding or drought, no happy medium. Hope you are warm and dry.

Blessings and hugs to you too my dear friend.

We're about to get into mid to upper 80s to stay, and I will definitely need some energy to get through this summer that's all but here now. More rain coming too. Sharing this excellent poem again.

      Blessings . . . take care . . .

So hard to have energy when it's too hot to sleep. Came back to share this excellent poem again. Hope you're in a cool place -- assuming there is such a place in what became a part of Hell when Texas was annexed back in 2011. :)

Hope all is well with you. Blessings and hugs dear friend.
