Epiphanies

I love a good epiphany,

when the light goes on upstairs;

A lightening bolt of revelation,

that stands up all my hairs.

Epiphanies are flabbergasts

bombshells out of blue,

wake-up calls that stun me,

Cuz I never had a clue.

Epiphanies astonish me,

with unforeseen disclosure.

They catch me off guard suddenly,

thus I always lose composure.

Do you ever have epiphanies,

which leave you open-mouthed?

That completely bowl you over,

or something thereabout?

Epiphanies are startling,

and catch us unaware.

Rude awakenings of such magnitude,

they may give us quite a scare.

Once I had an epiphany,

that took my breath away.

So shocking that I staggered,

and turned 50 shades of gray.

Epiphanies can be wonderful,

they’ll take you by surprise,

and keep your brain from atrophy

and never vaporize.

When I have epiphanies,

My feelings do elate.

Then slap my forehead saying

I could have had V-8.

Thanks Lori, I needed that. I liked your line "They catch me off guard suddenly, thus I always lose composure." That's exactly what happened when I read the last verse. Loved it!

Thanks Bill. I wrote it over a year ago. I couldn' sleep last night so was compiing all my poetry on my computer and thought why not shae it even though it is silly. It lifted my spirits.

Lori, great poetry emerging from your pen these days. This one is such a pleasant read. Did you have another epiphany at the end?

I'm so glad mine don't 'liquify' the same way! I just reward myself with liquid refreshment!
