Epitaph for AEvans Mother (Poem to Celebrate and Mourn)

Updated on January 13, 2011

We got sad news the other day, AEvans mother had passed away.

Fighting hard the battle through long dark days her body weak, at last gave way

Now with peace and her pain gone she rest’s within our Savior’s arms

But all she gave to friends and kin remains instilled and strong with them.

Her children will remember when, things she alone could do for them

The morning smiles and bits of wit the wants and needs she’d strive to get

The special meals she worked to make, they’ll try but never duplicate

A special ingredient can not be faked; it’s the love within each meal she’d make

Her weary body laid to rest, was sadly not the hardest test

More days will come reflecting back to loss of love and emptiness

At breakfast table in morning’s start, her warm smile no longer will she impart

The holidays her presence gave will seem remiss of that, her spirit made

Treasured memories and lessons taught, she will remain within their hearts

Life goes on and time will pass, yet thoughts of her in their souls are cast

Now may we offer AEvans, friend, thoughts of hope and our prayers send

That God comfort her and lift her spirit then, she’ll return the call and write again

Sunday August 21,2011 was the one year mark. Time certainly did fly and the memories flowed. Reading this still makes me cry as I can hear my mother's laughter in my mind. I miss her so much, but I know she is looking down on me and telling me everything is going to be alright. Grieving is a process especially when you try to make others smile.

Sometimes when I sit behind the computer my comfort is reaching out as tears flow for mom. Thanks again for keeping this up so I can reflect on that day.

Tony, thanks for stopping by, and your wishes for AEvans I know will be appreciated.

My dear friend AEvans, It was not my intent to add more sadness to you, but to offer a kind thought and solace. May God hold you in his arms and comfort you as you manage through your loss.

I am glad you felt this way Hello. I don't know how AEvans will feel about it and I don't think she has read it yet. But what ever her wishes, either to leave it up or delete it, I will comply. I only wish her the best in this time of need and offer her a shoulder and an open ear.
