Espirit D'Arbre-Spirit of the Tree Poem

Updated on March 16, 2017

…. Courage doesn’t roar. It’s just that quiet thought that murmurs, “try again tomorrow” …..

storms of life

encircle and pound

my roots spreading like the afterlife

deeper and deeper

disappearing into the earth’s core

I grip onto the physical like a beekeeper

my crown, trunk and leaves

violently bend to and fro

never breaking only dancing to chances

my branches grow out to meet you

penetrating the unknown

soaring the wilderness of blue

my leaves form a scoop

chlorophyll of mine

cooks up a sugary blood syrup loop

to light up the life force of this ancient ground coup

hearts, banana-boats, hammocks and spades

crystalized shapes blowing in the wind

leaves scream differences like walking parades

yet all united in purpose

leaves are to catch the sky’s teardrops

alchemizing her grief into a shared life service

trunk of mine

you are a spinal tap of support

both a bridge and gateway to the vine

…. Courage doesn’t roar. It’s just that quiet thought that murmurs, “try again tomorrow” …..

lover bed of consciousness

my roots thread rhyme and reason

remaining unseen yet taking in the finesse

my smile is my crown

flowering conscious conscience

singing song of nurturance held down

yet everyday giving around
