A Poem: The Forces of Evil (Response to April's Poetry Month Challenge)

The Forces of Evil

The forces of evil could not prevail

Though Lucifer tried to no avail

Because the son of God with all his might

Cast Satan out into the dark of night

The master of evil and king of hell

Lost his crown when his kingdom fell

Now the Prince of Peace and God of love

Reigns from a throne in heaven above

Explanation of my Poem

My theme is based on tobusinesse’s poem. I enjoyed her theme. I feel that Job’s test is symbolic of the test that we all go through in life. Job winning his battle with Satan suggests that we can all persevere.Satan being finally cast out symbolizes his inevitable death.

Hi Cecile, wow.....I loved what you did with the poem, I guess it just wasn't Satan's day. I'm very touched that you chose to base the theme of your powerful poem on 'the charge of the light,' I had fun writing it. Looking forward to reading more of you work.
