Exhausted And Barely Keeping Our Eyes Open

Updated on August 25, 2015

Each Of Our Bodies Takes It's Toll

We both have finished work

From me standing on my feet all day

My wife from sitting behind a desk

We both feel tired

Mentally my wife more than me

She has to deal with customer complaints and needs

I deal with coworkers and getting orders out fast

We can see in each other's eyes

What we both want more than anything

Sleep

Yes that wonderful sleep

Where we can leave all the troubles of the day behind

Knowing we earned an honest days pay

Working hard and trying our personal best

We learned long ago

The secret of a job well done

Is not being the best or even being better than someone else

It's being better than we were before

Whenever we leave

We can take pride in the work we accomplished

That gives us a good reason

To come back tomorrow and begin again

With a positive attitude and a feeling of desire

What will we learn today ?

That makes us understand

How grateful we are

To have jobs

That help us provide for our families and our future

May we all be so lucky

MsDora Work gives us a sense of purpose. It is up to us to enlarge our vision and continue to help others with our talents and skills. I love making your day better. Michael-Milec Pushing to the limit has it's rewards. Sharing our energy until we are completely drained. Thank you both for your special comments. As I close my eyes I sleep content and peaceful.

DREAM ON, you make us dancing instead of dragging our feet, to see the beauty out of ashes and being in agreement with you: ' Life is so beautiful'- we just need to pay more attention to it in order to grasp all the many blessings.

If only we could vote, this is beautiful and interesting.

Make a restful remaining of the day.

So much positivity exuding from these lines--honesty and gratitude for sure. Just wonderful!

Jodah Many days are routine. We go to work and come home and sleep trying to get a few things done. Improving our life in little ways. I am so glad that you enjoy my poetry. I try to make people laugh instead of cry. Think instead of curse. Nod their head instead of turn away. Life is to wonderful to pass up. Thank you so much for your kind words. I am very happy to have you as a friend. Have a great day.
