FOR DR. B.J.
FOR DR. B.J.
This was written by my daughter-in-law for my Mom and read at the funeral.
I may not have known you long,
But know that you have inspired this song.
You are very special, there's no doubt.
I'm all cried out.
When I think of all that you have done
After losing a husband and first a son,
Maintaining your strength within and without,
I'm all cried out.
While raising four kids you went back to school.
A wife and a mother with a PhD: very cool.
Then you sailed the world teaching captains with clout.
I'm all cried out.
You're a published author of books and blogs.
You've amassed a huge collection of hogs.
Your jokes always made us laugh and shout.
I'm all cried out.
I can't thank you enough for welcoming me
Into your wonderful family.
You taught us to find the humor throughout.
I'm all cried out.
You're the best Great Grandma with more on the way.
The children always loved to visit and play.
You never minded how they would run about.
I'm all cried out.
The cheery smile upon your face
Always made us feel welcome at your place.
Christmas will never be the same without….
I'm all cried out.
As all these thoughts race through my head
I promise no more tears to shed.
That's not what you would want somehow.
So I'm all smiles now.
With Love,
Robyn Kane
