For My Respected Friend; Tribute of Long Lost Feeling : A Poem

Updated on July 6, 2017

The Story Behind the Poem

All of us have what we called as memories; About love, feeling, hopes and wishes toward someone in our past which sometimes good and sometimes bad. This person, a respected brother and dearly friend of mine was part of this love, feeling, hopes and wishes, which already gone away in the day after I made reconciliation with myself and decided to live only for me since that time.

As much as the sadness moments I had with him around, I couldn’t able to deny the fact that he had big role on my transformation, and for that, I should feel grateful and thankful. Without his present at that time, I might drawn myself too long under my depression. Without his help I might still lost and hard to be find. So no matter what had come between us and break us apart, I shall never forget to show him my thankful thought.

Once my friend told me, there are two kind of meeting between man and woman. Whether you meet to be together as it is your destiny, or whether it is just a meeting; to help you to learn something, but never mean more than that. Me and this friend only able to become the last one, but it never mean his present had no meaning for me.

Through this hub, for the last time, I want to say my thankful thought. Thank you my respected friend, for that journey and all the words we had been shared all along. I will pray for you to able to reach the life that you want and find a sweet lady to love, insha Allah.

Jazzak Allah Khairan.

Freya.

I remember the face

I remember the voice

I remember the warm and words which are so nice

I also remember that sweetness of his words

I remember the day when I missed him

Or the time when I hanged on him for my heart salvation

I remember the laughter we shared

And the dreams we knitted together

But I also remember;

All the fight...

The anger

And the pain

I remember what is seems like never ending sadness;

His cruel words!

His frustration!

His porcupine gestures toward me!

All those, run deeply and broke me

I lost hope and wishes upon him

I couldn’t able to breath

Drowned inside my own misery

Felt hurt

And shattered into pieces

Then,

For my own sake

I let him go

This is a memory of a man who did gave me so much

Yet, I gave nothing to him

But my useless words

Thank you because you are there when I need you the most

Thank you for gave me hand even you almost lost yours

Thank you for showed me your chosen paths so I can learn

I want to pay my debt to you

But what I have now only this gratitude feeling

I hope you are well

I hope you are fine

I hope you will find

The life that you want

So long my friend

You will always had your place inside my heart

Freya-This was such a touching story of love. I totally agree with you that Everyone is in our life's journey for a reason. It might be a lesson we have to learn or something we need to teach the other. I also want to thank you for the great Linda Carlisle song, "a prayer for the lonely." I have always really liked her singing and havn't heard a lot from her these days. Thanks for the great song and video. Blessings to you my friend.
