Fabric of Emotions: a Poem

Val is a life-long student of the psycho-philosophy of living and a devoted practitioner of many techniques that enhance personal evolution.

I never knew fabric of emotions would turn into a poem

just like you never knew you would be reading one

but as I was letting my mind brainstorm and roam

it seemed like a challenge of something never done.

If you take an onion and layer by layer do some peeling

after some artificial crying you'll reach its empty core

so something very similar is true about a feeling

with no substance in its center to be accounted for.

Thus, at that deep level of just a felt sense

emotions are but energy neither good nor bad

but then they can make us relaxed or tense

when coming from thoughts that are happy or sad.

To analyze emotions is like to take a radio apart

to find out why the program is so annoying

so why not be instead something like smart

and change that station with simple mental toying.

Emotions don't hurt, it's resistance to them that may hurt

they are just an energy started with our thinking

so cut yourself loose from that mental dirt

and forget about analyzing and all that "shrinking".
