It's Not Fair

Fair is what you pay to ride the bus, my friend
fair is what you pay to ride the bus...
You'll spend your dime
on wasted time
if you should care to fuss.

Nowhere is it carved in stone
that "fair" applies to Life as known
and it is pointless to bemoan...
the fact that Life's not fair.

Rain doth fall on all the land
worked by just and unjust hand...
and it is folly to demand,
for Life is seldom fair.

Rainbows shine for all to see,
signs of hope that clouds, then, flee
and sun will glow in mystery
but not because its fair...

Fair is not Life's cornerstone...
its not decreed nor due our loan
and is a rather moot intone...
there's no promise Life is fair.

Fair is what you pay to ride the bus, my friend
fair is what you pay to ride the bus...
You'll spend your dime
on wasted time
if you should dare to fuss.

      No very often so much of life is not fair , I think we just learn to deal with it all as best we can.

      Bravo! I could put music to this and apply it to a musical play about riding the bus. It is amusing too. Life is not fair- even all over the world! I wish we could have a rainbow appear over Japan right now.

      tumblin, thanks! I've don my fair share of whining those words, myself, I fear and...this little poem was a haha on me, first and foremost. This is one of my little "pearls of wisdom"

      revmjm, it was a play on words...which is how I used it with my sons, as they were growing up...their mantra was always "its not fair!" Anyway, thank you for your visit and comment!

      I read your poem. I'm guessing "fair" is a play on words for "fare" that you pay to ride the bus.

      Nicely done... I like how you used fair as in what you use to pay for the bus and then compare to it how life is never fair!

      I just love it when you are the first comment! It is funny you said that, Girlfriend...this was my status quo response whenever I heard..."it's not fair!" from my boys! And believe me, I heard it alot! They are all grown today and I still hear it! and it is still my status quo response! LOL! and often, I must confess...I tell it to myself!
