I am sure we can all remember going to the fair when we were in our teens or there abouts.

The buzz of the fairground in our early years is second to none.

The pulsating music;the flashing lights;the tense stature when on the rifle range and each and every other stall also !!!Those emotions from yesteryear soon come pounding back full force!!!Many of these emotions are too powerful to try and wipe out and I certainly wouldn't want to either!!!

Oh yes a visit to the fairground these days soon brings back each awesome memory;each quivering excitement and a host of other youthful moment comes rushing to the fore!!!

I hope you enjoy this visit to those golden days gone by, but so easily reconnected to !!!

Great carousels

Just spinning round and round

Ghost trains very dark and eerie

The Big Wheel from low down to way up high

Coconut stalls always beckon

Teeny tea-cups spinning !!!

So enticing

Haiku:Racing Heartbeats.

Excitement flies high

Yesteryear's great memories

Still racing heartbeats.

Freeverse:Those Flashing Lights.

Those flashing lights

magnetic tones

Caught up

in yesteryear's adventures.

Each memory

each taste

such excitement

still racing.

A world of lively

mood lifitng songs.

A time of the

Ghost train's shreiks;

of that feeling so high.

The Big Wheel

faster and higher

faster and higher

faster and higher!!!!

That ride

lifted right up

the blue skies.

Those stalls

of over loaded coconuts.

Over- loaded Goldfish

so pitifully cramped.

Great frustrations of that gripping claw!!

Oh yes

it lifts

lifts that beautiful teddy !!!!

Oh yes!!!!

Oh no no no!!!!

That claw

so expertly dropped

just at that final moment .

Music pulsating

like blood through each vein.

pressures lifting

our hearts

our souls

way up high;

higher than the highest mountain!!

All continuing

through each hour

those waltzers

around and around

such pressure

such highs

such magnetic forces.

Forces draw us towards

On and on and on!!!!

Until that final crescendo of magical moments. ............................??!!!

A force of almost

deflating powers.

Flashing lights

fizzled out !!!

A glow now extinguished!!!

Lights switched off,

music silenced,

crowds scattering

for home!!!

Vowing as always to return the very next year!!!

Fun,such a buzz of excitement

Always enticed me so

I allowed myself to be drawn to such fun

Racing heartbeats;racing senses

Ghost Trains eerie music ;spider filled cobwebs

Rifle ranges"Come and try!!"

Oh how powerful that overwhelming state

Under and over that awesome Big Wheel!!!

Never ever to forget

Dreams of excitement and flashing lights

Such memories to treasure to cherish eternally.

I hope you all enjoyed your visit to the fair and enjoy the rest of your weekend.

How clever this was, all of the different forms of poetry you regaled us with. And I could feel the fair once again, way back, to the days of my childhood and then to my daughtere's childhood. At the fairs we went to there was the showing of the animals they had caref for and groomed for months and months. It all came tumbling back as I read these poems. Thank you for sharing, Eddy.

When I was a little girl, we'd go to the fair every year. Such great memories of the lights and excitement, carnival music, cotton candy, pretzels and corn dogs. Thanx for making me smile, Eddy!

Eddy, The cotton candy and popcorn leap out from the page as I tell myself first the rides, then the food not vice versa for those with queasy stomachs! Your diverse poetic forms -- acrostic, free verse, haiku, rictameter -- convey the diverse entertainments and rides at the fair.

Respectfully, and with many thanks for sharing, Derdriu

Eddy - What memories this brought back. I'm afraid those days are gone, but the enjoyment is still remembered! Great Job!

I made a terrible error in my comment to you in my newscast. I started to write "not ignored" and didn't like it, and planned to change it to "well noted". The bad thing was I left the "not" there and only took out the "ignored" so it came out "not well noted." I'm so sorry and made a second comment to you in the hub as quick as I saw what I'd done. I tried to email you, but had it returned. My sincerest apologies.

      Hi Eddy,

I remember some traveling carnivals when I was a child and the glittering lights, Ferris wheel and other rides were always a treat. I never attended a really big fair but know that they would be even more spectacular like you described in your poetry. Up votes!
