Life's Daily Longing..

Updated on May 13, 2012

Time Heals All Wounds

The longing... that I feel

it should not be told.

this story of love.. is one

that is older than old.

When life's daily, has brought

this same feeling... it's mine

it's a story of love.

and longing..a story of time.

The Elf Fairy that appeared

touched my heart... my mind

with a true love, I thought

that all, are hoping to find

Everyday was renewed fresh

with her words and kind deeds

her tenderness and actions

she fulfilled all of my needs

Mother Nature she knew,

that I needed you so

try as I may...

I could not let you go

The beating of your wings..

I tried to slow

now you are gone,

and my heart is so low

Come back my fairy...

I now truly know

that your freedom

and my loneliness

together, they go.

Your poem reminds us how the greatest pleasures in life never last.

      Well done!

Beautifully written, as always Michael! Love how you expressed your feelings so plainly and clearly here. These lines are so revealing of your affection "...touched my heart... my mind with a true love, I thought that all, are hoping to find..." Best wishes!

Like the translucent wings of a fairies wings, love is. It takes it's flight at times for no reason at all. Yet at times two were not meant to be and thus wings flap and away they go. I know it's painful now, but time always heals a lost relationship, believe me I've been there. Cheer up my poetic friend, if she is meant to return, so be it she will, if not then you will find another. peace and blessings to you.

Ah,this is a familiar phenomenon in relationships where eventually each partner wants to control the other like they are a possession. At this point, the victim needs to decide if he/she is better off with or without such a partner. We all want to belong and we all want freedom - sometimes it's a tricky if not impossible situation.

Michael, this poem is both sad and beautiful. But feelings can never just disappear, no matter what distance there may be. Everyone has their own life, and different needs. Maybe she needs more space or freedom.

Just started at one end with your hubs. This poem in particular, so simple in verse, yet so profound in meaning and intent.

      "I now truly know

      that your freedom

      and my loneliness

      together, they go"

These last lines are my favorite, beautiful thought! Keep up the good work! :)
