Is FanFiction art or just written daydreams
Fanfiction artistic value or just daydreams we want to share or is there a difference?
Is FanFiction something that is artistically creative or is it just writing down a daydream that you want to see come to life or is it a mixture of both?
FanFiction Artistic Value or Written Daydreams
I was recently having a conversation with a friend when the topic of FanFiction came up. I personally have dabbled in writing fanfiction. I have always wanted to write a novel but never really had the time and when I discovered fanfiction it gave me the opportunity to write about characters that I already knew about without having to make up any of my own. We discussed this after I explained what FanFiction was and the person I was talking to said "so you write down your daydreams" at first I replied with No but after thinking on it for a few days I am now stuck wondering if it really is just my daydreams that I am writing down.
Or if it is something artistic in the form of writing that allows me to express myself and how I feel the show or book characters should go or what happened after the story ended or in the middle of the story being told. However I also got the idea that maybe its a little bit of both. Taking the daydreams that I thought could have happened or should have happened o that I wanted to see happen and using my artistic nature to make it come to life in writing and sharing it with others for them to read and comment on.
What are your thoughts on the subject?
My Fanfiction addiction...
I have learned after reading and writing a few stories of Fanfiction that I have become addicted to writing it and learning about the terms and things that go along with writing Fanfiction and to my surprise there is a lot that I didn't know. I have found that it can be addicting rewriting an episode to come out differently or adding a new character into the mix or a new love connection. It makes me wonder how the shows writers ever get done cause I could write on a topic for hours without losing any ideas, they just never stop flowing. Is this an issue for anyone else and if so how do you stop it from happening?
