Farewell, My Dear Hamdi. A Dedication to A Colleague At Work.

Indigo Moon and Magic Dawn

Farewell, an ever-illumining twinkling star,

Recedes into the brilliance of the night.

Sunset’s fast approaching,

But the sweet dawn of your memory lingers;

Smile flashes across an indigo moon of beauty.

Hope, sweet Hope. Another waltzing snowflake,

A moment upon the tide of eternal time,

And your magical charisma,

Will bear the promise of another day.

For now our dreams are ephemeral,

And it is no longer sunrise.

One day, perhaps, your harvest will gather

Into a cloud and fall, like gentle raindrops.

Then we’ll sing deeper songs;

Cascade more roses in the ether.

Dew on a flower

Diligence, modesty and sweetness you embody,

Drawing the beauty of our Hearts,

Like fragrant lavender in seasonal Spring.

The dance of your laughter, like fresh dahlias,

Still flirts with the glimmering dew.

Only it’s our Spirit’s longing,

As we rejoice in a quintessence of Delight.

Come! Thou cute sweet-tempered Hamdi,

Let us renew our friendship.

Who knows, perhaps some destined day,

We’ll sit and watch the moon together,

Replenishing our Spirits;

Entrusting it to the Light which gave us Love.

      You are right, of course. I saw her today and gave her this poem wrapped with Microsoft art and a beautifully framed picture. She was so thrilled! Thank you so much!

      Audrey, I thank you for your very perceptive comment. Most gracious of you. Much Love this weekend.

      Hi - You are so kind to write a lovely poem about the departure of your friend. It is nice to be a gifted poet and be able to express your feelings. Then, the final gift was to present it in a framed picture. The poem is very expressive and filled with your thoughts about her departure. Sharing. Blessings, Audrey

      Very well done. Perhaps there will be miles between you, but through absence, fondness can grow even more.

      Beautifully written Manitita. She has benefitted more than your distant friends because she's had the opportunity to be closer to you, to talk with you, to touch and feel you and see the sincerity in your eyes to your heart. However, she's only leaving the workplace. You may continue the friendship, I hope. Blessings!

      A beautiful farewell. It is very appealing and emotional showing the close attachment that you had and the deep feelings you are undergoing. I like the last four lines of the first part.
