Farmhouse Flair

Farmhouse Flair

Three miles down
a country road
and up a winding,
swervey lane...
perched atop a
gentle hill
stands a house,
a quaint domain.

Old and proud
the farm house sits
flanked by fields
and barns and trees...
wildflowers wave
in summer winds
to the happy buzz of
busy bees.

Fields of corn
grow tall and healthy,
garden rows
produce and thrive...
Roosters crow as
cows are grazing,
Resplendently,
a place alive.

Birds and butterflies
are plenty
sights and sounds
caress the sense,
soft green grass
and hay so fragrant
framed within
great miles of fence.

It is a world
that's like no other
whose beauty is
unmatched and fair.
I love to come
commune with Nature
and bask within
her farmhouse flair.

Sunnie, this is my sister's farm, where she and her boys live. We have been going on weekends to visit and help her in this hard time since she lost her husband. Thank you for your read and awesome comment! Blessings to you!

Tender', how beautiful... I can only imagine such a place, but in that, I can hear the quietness of it all. A majestic place to sit and contemplate such a tragic loss. My best wishes and condolences, my dear, dear friend...

bbnix, the farm was John's dream, and his essence abounds there. There is a peaceful sense, but sad, too...I so appreciate your visit and sweet, sensitive comments!

PA, I am thrilled to see you here! The truth is, I took a gazillion photos at the farm, and these are not the best of them. I need to figure out how to separate the best and get rid of the rest! lol...anyway, I am happy you liked them and try and write so that sharing the photos works with the read. Hugs!
