28 Word Poem for February

cold winds,

biting chills, and

white snow fluffed hills

Valentine's Day, oh how gay!

president's day is coming our way.

February, sweet and small, greatest month of all.

Eric Lies

Afternoon in February

The day is ending,

The night is descending;

The marsh is frozen,

The river dead.

Through clouds like ashes

The red sun flashes

On village windows

That glimmer red.

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

February knows his fortune well,
Even in the bitterness of dawn
Breaking in the coldest hour of hell,
Revealing but the worst that must be borne.
Underneath the ice the passions sleep
Ablaze with all the beauty of their burning,
Rendering a richness that will keep
Yet warm within the cavern of his yearning.

Groundhog Day

Old Groundhog stretched in his leafy bed.
He turned over slowly and then he said,
"I wonder if spring is on the way,
I'll go and check the weather today.
If I see my shadow between eleven and noon,
I then will know that I'm out too soon.
I'll crawl back in bed for six weeks more,
Pull up the warm covers and snore and snore.
But if no shadow gives me a scare,
I know that spring is in the air,
I'll wake my friends and wish them cheer,
With glorious news that spring is here."

Richard from Canada, It's true, February is indeed one of the most difficult month for students to learn to spell right. Thanks for pointing out the word mispell. It is also one of those words that you often see spelt incorrectly.

February is indeed the most misspelled month. And "misspell" (two "s") is one of the most misspelled words. :-)
