Feeling Entitled to Be Given: a Poem

Val is a life-long student of the psycho-philosophy of living and a devoted practitioner of many techniques that enhance personal evolution.

Someone was the first to say that "life is a bitch"

and why there were so many who instantly agreed

instead of doing something to fix that glitch

of a bad reasoning and attitudes which they breed.

Really folks, we are all so good at seeing wrong

masters of judgement and all added bad names

for somehow that makes us feel so strong

while we are parading with resentments and blames.

For some reason that I may never fully know

putting others down makes us feel taller

bitching about life being a part of the show

in which we don't play a racer but a crawler.

So, if life is a "bitch" we must be bitch makers

like mental beggars holding that empty dish

going through the bitchy-life not as givers but takers

feeling entitled to catering to our every wish.

Some think if they cry loud enough and spice it with cussing

that will make them victims of a sinister force

with all that incessant complaining and fussing

they are but a bunch of losers with no remorse.
