Fields Of Dreams.

Updated on January 5, 2010

Fields Of Dreams.

The lone crow harrasses

acres yet harvested,

while  stick figured tatics

can't hope to discourage

the sharp bluish green eyes

that cackle with glee

plus a  beak

so much sharper

that renders to fodder

the plump ears of corn,

succulent gold jewels

each plucked free

from their cradled

silky lined green enclosures.

10,000  more scarecrows

would never deter,

such a scavenger scrabbling

scarred by shotgun's hard pellets

yet each day he returns

delighting in feasting

on old farmer Amos's

All you can eat

tasty vegatable buffet.
