Fighting Again

Updated on September 10, 2015

Why? Why? Why?

i don't have time for this

There is nothing so sad

Than two adults who can't talk things out

You think after many years of problems

Each time disagreeing that leads to confrontation

We would of had our fill

The years fade so do the memories

As if all is forgotten

Angry words are said

Then emotions rise

When we should be quiet and think

We keep on talking

Making things worse

Soon someone's feelings are hurt

Then the small problem escalates

It gets out of control

Time to take a walk

Do something else to take your mind off it

I chose to mow the grass

Turning my energy to something useful

Now a few hours passed

We can talk rationally and see if a solution can be reached

Was it really that important after all ?

Does it matter who was right ?

Is arguing really the answer ?

Time to make things right

We both could give a little

Compromise

Make up

Return to the way we were

Yesterday

Loving each other

For all the things we do

Not for the things we lack

Shprd74 It is easy to argue. It is hard to be patient, kind and thoughtful. Understanding leads to problem solving. Complaining and arguing leads to problems. Thank you for reading and commenting. Have a great night.

annart We are all here to experience life first hand life. I love to learn from others and avoid some headaches. Then some things you have to be there to really understand. Thank you for reading and sharing life. Gypsy Rose Lee We all need our separate space at different times . Alone time has many advantages and one of my biggest is when I am together with my wife I feel such a joy and a stronger connection than ever. How wonderful it is to do the things we enjoy. I love the way you expressed many different feelings and ending with love. Life has so many different levels and each level has numerous feelings. I love life so much. When we try to explain what we know and what we don't life is a challenge. Thank you for sharing so we can all learn and help others. May you both have a wonderful day. Rainy and wet here. I plan on staying in and keeping dry.

This month my hubby and I have the best thing of all - time apart. Living day in an day out together is wonderful and we do have space. He works on his laptop downstairs and I work on my PC upstairs but still there you are together. His son, who lives in the UK needed some help for a business project and asked my hubby to visit him, get instructions and now hubby is in Australia. I have breathing space and in a couple of weeks when he returns we will be more in love than even before and that is just great.

Thank you. You too. You're right; as long as we learn then it's worth it (almost!).

annart So as we both had time to cool down. We realized how silly the whole argument was. We didn't blame one or the other. We are in this together. Trying to learn from our mistakes so we don't do a full circle and revisit this same situation again. Thank you for your understanding and sharing. Life can take us in many directions. Some we don't have to go. Have an incredible day.

How true! It's so easy to say things without thinking and then it all gets so much worse! Great poem, great philosophy.
