Finding Yourself

Updated on January 18, 2010

My 14 year old, Jacob

Perhaps the saying should actually say “learn yourself”.  There’s really nothing to be “found”. It’s more about knowing yourself.  We go about our everyday lives from the day we were born; seeing, hearing, learning, and experiencing an abundance of things as we encounter them.   Some even dedicate their whole lives towards great achievments, but in the end, do you really “know” yourself.  Finding yourself, I believe, is referring to truly learning and knowing who you are, what you stand for, what makes life worth living for you.  Not everyone can truly say that they know themselves.  Some people think they do, but do they really?  Unfortunately sometimes learning one’s self lies in the actions you take in some of the most complicated experiences, or the choices and decisions you make when there is no one to answer to.  It’s a continuing learning process of the greatest research you can accomplish….yourself.”

Your welcome the clean life, I guess just as importantly as love and respect is being honest with one's self. Sure makes life much smoother and easier to deal with when you can recognize the truth about yourself in all situations. Thanks for your comment!

Thanks for sharing. I always said that you have to love and respect yourself in order to do the same to others.
