First Haiku: A Tribute To My Grandmother

Updated on July 9, 2012
Source

Inspiration

Today, I am missing my dear grandmother who passed away back in December of 2006. She was the only grandparent I ever had in my life. She spoiled me like any grandmother. She was the most precious and compassionate person I have never known besides my parents. To my grandmother, I offer this Haiku. Grandma, if you only you could read this now. One day I will see you again though!

Dear Grandma...

Am yearning within

Desire her endearing touch

Missing her today

Gentle hug embraced

Compassionate words of love

One day united

Until that moment

Cherishing sweet memories

Reliving past times.

I bet your grandma was awesome. I still have mine and I dread the day when she'll finally be gone. The memories are most powerful. I'm sure your grandma is still alive in all those wonderful memories. Good read. Thanks, Josh.

What a wonderful tribute to your grandmother. I think she is looking down and reading this now. She knows you are thinking of her. Her love and compassion and yes, even the spoiling, brought this beautiful poetry out of you. She is quite the inspiration! Bravo, josh - well done!

Voted up, awesome, and beautiful. Your grandmother is surely proud of the love and bond you two shared. Being a grandmother I feel that special bond between grandmother and grandchild...I'm sure she appreciated it and cherished it as much as you did.

Josh, thanks for the morning cry. No seriously, this was beautiful and can totally relate, I miss both my grandmother and grandfather more than life itself many days. They helped raise me and were always there for me. Your words are so true and I do believe you will meet up with your grandmother someday, just as I hope to meet up with mine someday too. Voted up and shared too.
