First Time Skiing (Limerick)

Bunny Hill Or Slope: Which One First?

Do you remember the first time you headed off to the slopes to ski? I remember my first experience like the back of my hand. I was scared stiff! In fact, I chose to stay on the bunny hill for the first several hours, because the actual slopes scared the living daylights out of me! I thought those hills were demanding me to sign my own death warrant, and so I avoided them like the plague!

For those of you who are not familiar with skiing, the bunny hill is the hill where beginners go to practice, because it is short and not very steep. The bunny hill is to the actual slope, like a kiddie pool is to a lake. Where would you rather have your kid take his/her first jump?

So, I present to all wannabe skiers a Limerick of what happens when an amateur skier thinks they are too good for the bunny hill. I hope you enjoy!

Epic Ski Fail

Riding the lift with a very big grin

Deciding to take skiing for a spin

You start down the steep hill

And soon take a bad spill

Breaking a leg you ask where is the gin?

      Gyspy,

Yes, skiing is not for everyone for sure. I had a friend break a leg too. I enjoy skiing, but it is not a sport for everyone to venture in!

Good one Josh. Reminds me of two reasons I never took up skiing. The first one that I balance real bad on skis and the second that a friend of mine went skiing for the first time - smacked into a tree and broke her leg.

I can relate!! I snowskied like 20 years ago, but I remember my first time down the real mountain. It is scary but exhilerating. I leave skiing to the young folk now. Have fun and enjoy!

I think most of us have done that at least once! I skipped the bunny hill to the intermediate hill, fell down starting off, had one ski stuck straight up and couldn't get it out easily. I had a bruised ego and banged up knees. To make it worse, a devilish boy grinned and ran over my leg! josh3418 you just released this memory by your writing! Unusual subject for what the season is now but nicely done and entertaining. thumbs up!

Voted up and funny, Josh! I wonder if that person got snow up her nose? Just sayin'...

Bum knees and a hatred for cold have saved me from ever trying snow skiing, but I had the good sense to let go of the tow rope when I first water skied; which was back when Noah still had his boat! ;)
