Fishing in the winter

Updated on September 21, 2015

Rubbing my hands across the puddle of water,

Waiting for a sensation to run through my body,

Running away from the heat, but things just got hotter,

Cried till I slept, then awoke breathing air that was cold and foggy,

Dipped my hands further down into the puddle,

Thought I felt something, but what I saw was nothing,

Stepped into the creek, but jumped back out in a sudden,

Nothing had happen, I just wished there was something,

Took a dive in the river, and opened my eyes,

Popped my head out, and my eyes were still dry,

Eased out slowing walking away,

Looked back and pledged, "I'll swim in that ocean another day."
