A great piece of work in english literature written by Bernard Shaw. This essay is one of my favourites that completely changed my perspective about doctors.
In this essay Shaw exposes the duplicity of doctors who refer themselves as men of science and criticizes the man in the street who considers doctors men of science as well. Shaw reveals that doctors have nothing to do with science. All they know is the art of giving medicines to the patients.
Furthermore he tells a story of his encounter with a doctor in the hospital.

4. NAGASAKI, AUGUST 9, 1945
As you can perceive what could be happened on that date. This short essay was written by a victim of nuclear bomb at Nagasaki Michaito Ichimaru who fortunately survived on this horrible day.
Ichimaru tells, It was a bright sunny day on 9 August 1945. As usual he was getting ready to go to the university but suddenly he heard the sound of two fighter jets. After few minutes, a powerful explosion happened.

When after a couple of hours the writer went out, he saw people ''they looked like ghosts with vacant stares'' he writes. I cannot get rid of crying women. They were all crying for water and pain.
The write wishes not to see these scenes again in life. He prayed for eliminating all the weapons of mass destruction.
5. WHISTLING OF BIRDS
This essay is a beautiful piece of literary work written by D.H Lawrence. It is kind of descriptive essay.
Lawrence beautifully contrasts the beauties of spring with the destruction of winter. He says spring is the name of life and activity, while winter is the name of destruction and ruin.
The writer depicts the beauty of spring by employing powerful images through writing flames of sunshine, the glimmering of new creation, subtle new wind from heaven, threads of silver, silvery blissfulness.
