Flash: Mental Photographs

Updated on December 24, 2011

Flash

I crop her from mental photographs

To doctor the awkward contrasts

Left in her absence

I recall perfect albums

Portfolios of our passion

Goodbyes are etch-a-sketch

Lines I shake into grey sand

A thousand words pictures say

Written on cheeks

Lipstick on her teeth

I keep that for laughs

With not at

Flash!

I’m not that photogenic

Out of sight, out of mind

Precedents photos set

License plate portrait

Worth a fortune

We are celebrities

We spend energy

To make sure they

See our faces

Flash!

Some cultures think photos capture souls

Very superstitious versus very superficial

I see another light bulb explode

Tides over an empty shell

Such a picturesque sight

A story only time will tell

Still I remember you well

As you sleep I exist

Hear a camera click

Flash!

Innuentendre, I can tell you think like a poet. Lovely and I hate to admit it, but a little over my head.

Hope Santa is good to you.
