Flat Broke For Christmas Now What

Updated on December 26, 2012

Dig Down Deep

Money tight and pockets almost empty

We love to give things and we want to find the perfect gift

But Christmas can't be a wish list

We need money to buy presents at the store

Without presents we have no gifts

Simply put

Think again

What is Christmas all about ?

Gifts or giving

So lets see what we can do

Think back years ago when you got a gift you really didn't like

That broke after a few uses

Something you wanted so bad but it never was what you thought it would be

These were nice gifts but it wasn't long after they meant nothing

Lets make gifts out of what we already have

So lets find some gifts that we have laying around

Jewelry that you don't use

Clothes that don't fit

A new can opener when you have three

Those beautiful fancy dishes you take out once a year

A bottle of wine you got as a gift

The new ink you had to your old printer that broke

A gas card you found pushed way in back in one of your draws

The new ice scraper that you forgot about

These are all gifts that can be regifted

Now you have to use your imagination

These gifts are small and you want to give something bigger

Make each gift nicer by adding the personal touch

Make coupons that you can cut out

A homemade dinner for two

Ten free backrubs for someone you love

Put each gift with a special note

Things that you would do for them

It could be baby sitting for there three kids on a Saturday night

Mowing there grass five times (be careful they might want you in the summer when you have plans)

So include when I am available or Wednesdays only

You can be there dream house cleaner for a month

A snow shoveler when it snows

A chauffeur to drive them around for the day

Offer to take out there trash out every week for two months

If your handy or any job your good at

Sew them a little purse let them pick out the colors

An oil change on their car

I would keep it simple

How about 5 car washes you can do at your house

Give away to your friend your baseball collection he always loved

The same one that you don't look at anymore

Keep looking and you might just find more than you ever thought

Old books that sat on a shelf to someone who loves to read

The possibilities are endless

A Merry Christmas and good luck in your search

Finding all your wonderful thoughtful gifts

Great hub my friend-I think Christmas has become so commercialized these days and we are forgetting the "reason for the season." When I was younger I was all about the gifts but now I see it in the children's faces and feeling blessed for what I have, including the love of my family.

Christmas has changed for me over the years.I was lucky to have wonderful presents when I wanted them most. Now it is about exploring those memories and finding myself.Seeing the most important things in life and letting all the other hub bub go.Life is to short to worry. We make choices that lead us in different directions. It is up to us to continue and pull out the good and move on.Thanx for reading and seeing my world in a different light.
