Flickering Flames

Updated on February 16, 2013

Trying to feel the heat...
from the passion lost
how do you warm a cold heart...
frozen and stiff
waitng for the words,
that will come from your lips

So softly, a cold snow...
envelops my soul
covering ... like a blanket
smothering the last breath...
as I gasp... for my own life

When love has left
with no tracks to follow,
gone... down the lonely road
of lost dreams

wandering to nowhere...
with no direction,
stumbling...
found...looking over the edge of blackness

Step back and remember when...
all was beautiful, all was bright
in my mind
the warmth... what a feeling
from your flickering flames,
of true love

I look into the fire...

the reflections...so strong
I see your heart
waiting for me there...

always

So beautifully done this one is! The love lost yet such passion left inside which is most difficult to let go even when one knows that there is no footprints to follow......so deep and so moving. You are really amazing here .....

This is beautiful Michael. Sometimes rhyming takes away from the emotions, you did a wonderful job

really liked it and can relate. if it is true love then it will always find a way back to you, and the heart will always heal, even if it doesnt. Like a pheonix rising up from the ashes.

Oh, this is such a lovely read, the passion that was once there, and still feeling the heat of such days since gone. Really love that line . . ."I see your heart waiting for me there." Such a strong desire for that flicker to become a flame once again.

      Voted up ++++ and sharing

God bless. Hugs and love, Faith Reaper
