Flowers In My Soul
God turned on the garden hose,
the faucet into my soul...
rushing from His spigot
Living waters made me whole...
A river gushed into my heart,
this dry and dust bowl...
Yes, God unleashed a river
into the depths of my parched soul.
God sent rain in buckets
into the desert of my soul...
life sustaining waters that
revived and did console...
Withered ground now thriving
in a way both sweet and droll,
Yes, God watered my garden
and now there's flowers in my soul.
I knew that He could do it...
mend my weary, empty soul.
I'd been told quite often
of the Powers in His control...
I didn't for a moment think
That I deserved His dole...
But God surely did fool me,
Put His sprinkler in my soul.
There's music and there's dancing
in the garden of my soul...
The atmosphere is pleasant
No signs of glum parole...
Withered ground now thriving,
in all ways sweet and droll,
Yes, God watered my garden...
and dainty flowers don my soul.
