Forbidden Love (a poem)

Updated on April 10, 2011

I awoke from a strange dream

of forbidden love

and fallen travels.

Woken into a dense fog

stoic against the harsh wind of time,

taken into custody

by a lie.

Times move slowly

waiting for you.

Don't tell me how to be

how to feel

or what to do.

Forgiveness alludes me

like no other

trapped by anger.

If only it was

forgotten love

easy to cast aside

added to others

remembered no more.

Yet my unspoken dream is to have you

no more stolen moments

hidden from reality.

Walking hand and hand,

we face the world as one.

Long to return to sleep,

drifting into my dreams,

captivated by an idea

of love forever.

I enjoyed this. I've had that dream.
