Forever, Your Parents Will Never Do

Updated on May 16, 2020

You're in the pedestal of fame
You walk in the room and all eyes are on you
People started talking about you
They noticed how you walk gracefully
How you elegantly swift through the crowd and stole the spotlight
You've been greeted by your friends --as what you called them to be
They notice the nice piece of cloth that hugs your body perfectly
They told you how gorgeous you are as you've always been
With the earrings and necklace that glistens
And the overflowing compliments that keeps on coming
You lost in your little world of fame and attention

For quite some time you are happy
You feel so lucky and beautiful and loved
But then in a blink of an eye everything changed
Yes, you're still the talk of the town
People are still talking about you and your life
But not in a way that they did before
You've been involve in a scandal that you know nothing about
You've been framed and accused
Everyone's talking about you
Not to compliment you but to bashed you
You seek out help from your friends
But they too doesn't want to do anything with you
They are afraid that they might get involve in the situation you are in

You're desperate for help but you just felt betrayed and forgotten
Not just with people that adores you before
But with people you thought are your real friends
You're helpless
You don't know where else to run to
You feel wasted and got depressed
You don't have the will to continue living
But one day, your phone rang
It's from an unknown number that you don't recognise
You hesitated for a second
But decided to pick up nonetheless
It was a voice of a man
No, not just a man but of a woman too
It was the voices of your parents so worried and concerned about you
The voices of people that you just shut out and never opened up with
Worry and care are laced on the voices from the other line

You don't say a thing
But you felt the sting on your chest
You're hurting from everything
But then you realized that your parents are hurting even more for you
You ran your hands to your tearstained face
You know you've been hurting
But you realized you're being too hard on yourself
You felt alone never realising your parents always have been there for you

A new hope rose in your chest
A realization hit you
You face your battles stronger
You allow yourself to cry even some more
But you promise yourself you will be better
And slowly, everything became better
It's a battle won
And the lesson you learned?
Though everyone turns their back on you
And all of your friends abandon you
Forever, your parents will never do

A parents love will always be there for their child regardless. However, a true friend is someone who will also stand by you in your darkest hour. If they turn away, then they were never your friend in the first place. This was a thought provoking piece which I enjoyed.
