Forgiveness/a poem

Updated on October 21, 2012

You broke my spirit until I couldn't go on, and when I fell to the ground, you left me alone.

You looked at me with contempt in your eyes, you destroyed my world with hate and lies.

Like poison arrows your words peirced my heart, your savage anger tore me apart.

You picked at my wounds until they were sore, bruising my soul like never before.

Now here you stand offering a peaceful seed, the child of torment is now in need.

You come to me in desperation, begging me for your salvation.

I must look within to find what's true, is there redemption? can I forgive you?
