Forgotten Tear (poem)

Updated on February 13, 2017

Forgotten tear some remnant of past

Of something dear refusing to let go

It lingers here to what it used to know

And still unclear of why it couldn’t last

-

Didn’t I cry those lonely nights ago

And search each why my aching heart did cast

And even try those reasons thought so vast

Only to sigh when love had lost its glow

-

Sweet memory of all that once was me

Why can’t you see that everything must end

-

Another dawn awaits to set us free

The past is gone with nothing left to lend

-

Except a tear of how it used to be

Which settled here in search of some old friend

Music only
