Fortunate Days

Updated on December 16, 2017

A Quiz in the night

On the second night after the day I got my first ever personal laptop, an Asus X200MA which was on the 2nd of September, 2015, I was asked by my eldest sister to write a piece to give her a real and evident proof that I have always been writing my own pieces entirely on my own self. And there at that particular moment without knowing what exactly on what to write on, I decided to write as a dedication to say thank you to her for her support over the years..

God bless the heart that gives

Life, a journey of several years

Mixed emotions, sometimes, tears

Success may be everyone’s goal

The inevitable failure too comes though

We fall but then only to rise

We soar in order to make the heights

We learn and never to stop

Life, an ever classroom in session

Picking up our pieces from its lessons

Trials and tests are our ever constants

In need of tips regardless the distance

From family by blood or integrity

People we relate by our identity

Failure may hurt like shots from an arrow

Put us down like cancer in the marrow

Success may taste as sweet like honey and milk

But can be very sour and unsmooth like silk

God’s been good through it all

Providing flightless angels through the falls

To stick by us whenever and wherever

Cushion us against negative hits and whatever

Such to carry us to our goals and destinations

Whatever stars may be that dwell in the constellations

Do not suffice our wishes and needs but people do

And I’m glad to have such in my life too

For Sis Grace & Uncle Kwasi, to say a very BIG Thank You.

I sure will manatita, n i hope you liked your stay here in Ghana. I don't have any definite plans in the immediate years ahead of me to come to London but if any chance or opportunity presents itself, then why not, I sure will be more than honored to contact you.

A wonderful poem for your folks. When in London, look me up and I will take you to Poetry Cafe. Your poems would be appreciated. Keep on keeping on, Bro.

Did I say that I visited Ghana twice and spent six weeks in Accra. Another story. Much love this week-end.
