Forty Days Forty Nights

Updated on November 15, 2014

History Repeating Itself Again

I lay awake only to cry

Whispering one word why

Softly almost silently:

As if no one can hear

What I am about to say and do

Wondering where is the love and compassion for all people

Do we really care ?

Are we all strangers ?

Even though we know each others names and faces

Is it true ?

That all people are selfish

Caring only about themselves

How many people are like me ?

Left standing with an open hand

I see the meanness and the madness

Never as clear

Hurtful words are cast

Like a fishing line soon to be tangled

In between the rocks and murky bottom

Where we never travel but know only to well

Again at a loss

Words are like daggers

Jabbing and distorting

The pain is kept hidden

Even though my eyes tell it all

I stretch upon creativity and invention

To give desire a second chance

Stopped like a roadblock

Making sure I don't pass

With know other choice

I pick up speed and barrel through

Resulting in more harm than good

I wished another way had presented itself

As I prayed

Once a fortress

Strong and defiant

Now only a coward

That can not stand alone

Love and faith prevail

To outsmart not over power

Always the better choice

Once again happy and deeply content

Not in physical terms

But in all other ways that matter

Calming and reassuring

Restoring an old bond that holds true to this day

It is the only option

The only way

Michael-Milec To travel the same road over and over again. Not learning from our mistakes. Beginning with a new start only to realize if we understood and observed the world around us we could move on. Staying aware of who we are and the direction we want to follow. Thank you for reading and sharing your thoughts. Enjoy your day.

      As if you are introducing

      Beyond what is usual;

      throughout history

      Forty Days AND Forty Nights

in solitude like living in the tower

      disregarding surrounding affairs

      Forty Nights and Forty Days

      the great ones, small too

      rising in spirit great.

      Voting up.
