Freedom

Freedom Bird

On the floor looking at the sky through red rusty burglar proof
The sky is sadly gray and i realized how my life reached so low.

There's a bird- he's freer than me
How funny,an animal has more freedom than I.

A teen whose home is her prison.
Her opinions don't matter.
Her will is downplayed.
The landscape before her is icy cold.

There's a bird- he's freer than me
How funny,an animal has more freedom than I.

Cant talk to the neighbors they tell her.
Only her hope is the wide window where,
she dreams of getting away.
The bruises on arms and legs tell the extent of her life.
Her only friends are her cats and a squirrel who comes once in a while to check her.

There's a bird- he's freer than me
How funny,an animal has more freedom than I.

She thinking what she's missing......
Had to be something better than this 4x6 room she's in.
It smells, humid but cold.
Dusty, the floor boards creak.
Glad that at least she has a place to sleep.

Wow. This was powerful. I've been down that road, too, except on an emotional level. Voted it up and sharing!
