Freedom's Price

Updated on October 18, 2016

God almighty free at last,

Until you get the bill.

Valued freedom is costly,

Some steal from the till.

Try to escape like Icarus-

With your wings of feather.

Still not knowing what lies ahead,

Depends on the weather.

Unwilling to admit the truth,

The demons lurk inside.

Instead explain the pain and grief,

Casting footnotes aside.

Trapped in the labyrinth,

Concession is destiny.

Easier to lay down the sword-

And bow to majesty.
