Bound by the chains of society,
We are never truly free,
If not for one moment,
Before the walls of our cells encase us.
We must walk a certain way,
Talk a certain way,
Or be cast out.
We are still governed by rules,
Still surrounded by walls.
Told to be unique and then ridiculed.
Told to chase our dreams and then mocked.
Filled with contradictions,
We can only guess how to act.
But pray we do not stand out,
For that is a death sentence.
Follow the crowd and you will see,
Freedom lies in conformity.
