Friday, July 30th

Updated on February 5, 2015

It’s everyone’s worst fear,

the shouts and screams and curses rise and fall,

with the temperature in standing, fetid air,

the last Friday in July,

with this one, you have to take a seat,

boiler room heat,

that made the citywide police frequency

sound like an endless tape of defeat,

and the horror this day would bring,

she was the tiniest thing,

barely eighteen

and a hundred pounds dripping wet,

Friday, July 30th was all set,

sanity would play hide and seek,

and her bastard of a stepfather waited

only long enough for his wife

to go out of town for a week,

but before the brutal attack,

he brought three friends over

and it was after the six-pack,

the four of them took turns,

the images stain and burns,

and after that,

reality was broken down in sections,

they strangled her by wrapping a towel

around her neck and pulling

in different directions,

that day would scorch,

her future, torched,

as they buried her body beneath

a brick-house porch.

      Hi Frank

      Brutally graphic but well done.

I would hang them by the **** for the torture and murder of this young lady.

Wishing you the best for a Happy New Year

Voted up and gruesome. Oops, I mean awesome.

You brought an emotion up on this one Frank. Just got through listening to a half-sister tell how her mean father would beat women. I don't claim to be a tough guy but it would be my duty to take those cretins one at a time or altogether for that matter in a locked room. You've heard that ad, "You Got Milk." You got powerful poem.

Wow. That took a turn I wasn't expecting. I love the way you write... It shows your true talent and ability to take something very ugly and make it into something beautiful. Great job Frank!

A chill ran down my spine. Extremely sad, and such cases do happen so often in reality. Well written again Frank.

As another one bites the dust , your placed is securely etched alongside the likes of Skye. No body does it better brethren Frank .

The idea that we only pass through this time once, only in our beliefs we see clearly and it it there no one else but one can go . So belief will show the way.

My father use to say to me- it's ok boy I am going to catch you. I never knew he was speaking of 10 years later. for me , I could only see the moment, and I did not want to share.

      Hope you are able .

      Thanks for sharing.

      Bless.
