From the Ashes (I Am Phoenix)

Updated on July 7, 2013

Battered, bruised, beaten, and left for DEAD.

He's finished, it's over, is what was SAID.

If I did survive, it was predicted I'd never be the SAME.

A man of character, will, and integrity, inside raged an eternal FLAME.

Driven by the speculation and widespread affirmation that I was DONE.

Replenished, I was, from my nest and rays of the SUN.

From the ashes, I Am Phoenix, I began to RISE.

Shattering all myths of an early DEMISE.

From the ashes, I Am Phoenix, the symbol of IMMORTALITY.

Against all odds, I have distorted perceptions of REALITY.

Regenerating from the fire WITHIN.

Revived and renewed once AGAIN.

No fear of death, strengthened from the flame's HEAT.

From the ashes, I Am Phoenix, reversing the agony of DEFEAT.

They couldn't believe it, the rebirth appeared to be an ILLUSION.

Stunned in foolish disbelief and withered to a ball of CONFUSION.

From the ashes, I Am Phoenix, immortal through FIRE.

Some still wouldn't grasp, while others began to ADMIRE.

Fueled by heat, from the inside I BURN.

To be born again, forever did I YEARN.

Experienced through trials, the battle scars are no MORE.

From the ashes, I am Phoenix, forever will I SOAR.

To conquer me, to defeat me, their best was surely TRIED.

Ascending from the flames, all efforts were DENIED.

From the ashes, I am Phoenix, to many I am a SURPRISE.

An amazing feat, resurrected before their very EYES.

I see Cat is one of you followers. That means I'm in good company. I agree with Cat, but then I always do, that this is uplifting and inspirational...there is a Phoenix in each of us, is there not?

Thanks, I'm not into Greek mythology but I do like the story of the Phoenix.

Thanks. I agree we're not one trick ponies. I actually want to improve on non poetry hubs. Poetry will always be my first love, but I want to do more in depth hubs as well. I did a hub on using baking soda to clean your bathroom, that went nowhere, but it's evergreen and eventually it will. Have you wrote a hub that you thought was very good, but didn't really take off?

      Man of Strength,

It's funny how things work out! I hadn't read one hub, nor did I know anything about this place or how it works when I clicked the 'sign up here' button. I wasn't sure what I was going to write about... I just knew whatever it was, I was going to SCREAM about it! lol... Once I saw poetry hubs I thought, 'Yay!'... and now it's almost hard to deviate from them. I've always loved poetry and one thing that I love about it is 'anything goes'. Look how different the poets around here are and that's okay... actually, it's better that way! I think it's such an awesome way to express ourselves and our languages are unique to our personality. Like you, I definitely like to dabble in different areas though... we aren't a one-talent kind of show! :D

You're fitting in very well here... it's only just begun :D

Yes, Cat I agree. When I first joined HP, I was thinking of only doing poetry. That's where I felt most comfortable, nut decided to venture out into articles (hubs). I'm not a writer in the technical or formal sense, no journalism degree here. I enjoy writing about my interests and learning from great people on here, such as yourself.

      Man of Strength,

A lot of people talk about finding your niche, I think 'no niche' is a niche in itself... if you catch my drift :D. I couldn't imagine just playing with one toy when there's a toy box full of them. (Okay, maybe I'm a little tired, but I have a point :D ) ... We are intricate beings and love the idea of just writing whatever happens to be on my mind or I happen to be in the 'mood' for... I appreciate that about you as well. History and research is cool, there's no shame in that!

Thank you much for the compliments too :D

Thanks Cat, for those kind words. I just consider myself an every man. I have varied interests and tastes. I love ALL music, cars, movies, and sports. At the same time I'm an avid reader and a history and research geek. I'm glad HP exists, it's a wonderful outlet. You're an amazing talent and very versatile yourself, young lady.

      Man of Strength,

This is excellent, it's very uplifting and inspirational... seems like it should be a campaign or slogan for something! I'm really impressed with how many different areas you're covering here, you are a man of strength and many talents!
