Lost Poetry

Where Are You Going?

We run

Rain on our faces

Wet leaves under our feet

You smile

I laugh

and take your coat off your sleeve

But the sky clears

Your eyes drift

My heart falls

As I see

Why bother

You've already gone

Your heart on to fairer seas.

Yes, there is something about the restless ones that is hard to resist. Maybe it is their fleetingness that makes the memory of them so potent. Thanks for reading :)
