Fukiu! A Genre is Named

Updated on February 3, 2015

Tellin' It Like It Is

Traditional haiku are terribly passive. Nature does this, nature does that.

I adore nature but I have things to accomplish.

Get these people the f*ck outta my way, for starters.

What can we get done with 17 syllables?

In Fukiu I succinctly address

  • evil corporations
  • moronic drivers
  • questionable ex-boyfriends
  • and other scourges on society.

Let's explore. Here is an online adaptation from the chapter "Roommates":

It's a Poetry Book, It's a #DIY Journal

Fukiu contains six chapters of ticked-off micropoems.

Bonus feature: Each chapter ends with room to write! Writing fukiu can be healing.

Share your poetry with the Fukiuniverse, distribute it to a lone needy recipient, or keep it to yourself for private giggles and thoughtful reflection.

Shown here is an example of Fukiu stationery from the book.

Plus, the chapter "Drivers" concludes with traffic tickets to complete and distribute. They have seals from the Department of Fukiu.
