Six Books For Sexy Women With Big Hearts

I wanted to mention books in this hub that would inspire women in some way. I know that the books I mention here can also be recommended for "men," but thought that my suggestions would be taken a bit more seriously by "women" who may have similar tastes to me or may be looking for something to read with "heart or romance." Most of the books I mention here deal with love, tragedy, trials and discovery.

Now, I'm not saying "men" do not have a big heart or long for romance. So, anyone reading this is welcome to read my short reviews of books I love. I would love to know if any "men" like any of the books I suggest here.

If you like period pieces or stories that happened a while ago I have two that come to mind. The first one is a "classic" called "THE WOMEN IN WHITE." This book is used as a study book in colleges and was written by Wilkie Collins in 1859. This is one of the original detective novels at it's best. You fall in love with the characters (men and women) and the tragedy is very horrible. After you see all of the struggles that the characters go through, you realize how horrible people can be and what they will do to get what they want. The lead female character is "torture" and "love" at it's best.

The second book I'm going to mention is one of my favorites of all time. It is called "THE SEARCH FOR OMM SETY" By Jonathan Cott. A lot of the story takes place in Egypt and the lead female character is someone you never forget. It is a love story that transcends time and has to do with "past lives" and "past loves." Some people would not be into this subject, but it is such a fantastic story and written in such a realistic way and you just love the lead character with all of her quirks. I actually own a first edition copy and it is something I treasure. This book is "love" at it's best, whether you believe it or not.

For people who enjoy "spiritual journeys," the book "THE SHACK" By Willian P. Young was amazing. It deals with a father coming to terms with a tragic event and a huge loss. If you have a young child, it is very painful to get through in the beginning. I cried a lot while reading this book. I loved the characters who help him "find his way" and heal so that he can love again. This is truly an inspirational book whether you believe in any sort of God or "Power." Although a lot of religious people and groups had a problem with this book and it did cause a stir, I just read it with an open mind and followed his journey without placing any sort of "judgement." If you need any sort of emotional release, this book is one of the best.

One of the books I'm going to mention may confuse you if you are a bit older. The reason that I'm mentioning this book is because someone in her thirties gave it to me because she never expected to get "hooked." The book is "Twilight" by Stephanie Meyer. The first book and the rest of the series is "Romance, Torture, Romance, Torture!" Even if it is for young readers, it took me back to my first romantic relationships when I was younger and had me hooked! I read the whole series and one of my friends and I actually had conversations about which male in the book we liked most!!! Let me remind you that the characters are under age! It was really entertaining and fun! For a hint, I did not pick the "obvious one" even though he is HOT! ha

Speaking about "HOT," the other book I loved is "Eleven Minutes" by Paulo Coelho. Even though he wrote "The Alchemist" which an amazing "journey," I read this one years before and I never forgot it! This is a very important book for both men and women. It deals with first deceptions and pleasures and it is a journey for a young prostitute. If you like "extremes," this book is for you. It gets a bit heavy sexually but there is love! ha

For a different sort of book, I loved "THE SECRET LIFE OF BEES" By Sue Monk Kidd. Talk about a great "bonding female book." The characters are divine and the love they share for eachother is beautiful. It takes place in South Carolina and deals with a tragedy, abuse, young love and racism. It is an amazing story about a young girl who searches for answers and also a connection to her deceased mother, but finds so much more.

I have about five more books to recommend, but will leave them for another time. I hope you enjoy reading atleast one of these books if you have not done so yet.

Thanks for the recommendation, I will pick up one or 2 of your suggested readings. I was hooked on women's tragic and sexy themes starting with 'Forever Amber', and actually learned a lot from these well written novels.

Someone gave me a copy of the Shack recently but I haven't read it yet. And The Secret Life Of Bees is in my Netflix queue right now. A couple years ago I saw a play on Broadway called "The Woman in White." I wonder if it is connected to the book you mentioned?

Anyway, this is a good list. And I'm not even a woman.:)
