Gardening of the Soul

Gardening of the soul
is a private affair
between  Master Gardener
and plots in His Care.

It's an internal process
beginning at birth
that continues throughout
each life on this earth.

He plows and prepares
the soil of the heart..
enriching and tilling
cultivating His Art.

It is with passion and
pleasure, indeed,
the Master's own Hand
fondly sows each small seed.

And as with all gardens,
as seedlings appear,
weeds will spring up
defiant, austere...

The Master will, then,
with skill and great care,
patiently pluck all
the weeds He finds there.

He waters with lessons
and feeds with His Grace
nurturing, gardening
Each, His own place.

In each due season,
He prunes, then, with love
patiently, tenderly
He sculpts from above.

With warmth of His Sunlight
each garden thus grows
While The Hand of the Master
His gardens transpose.

And flowers appear
so silent and sweet
their mysterious blossom
The Master's own feat.

Though often unseen
by the garden's own eye,
its delicate flowers
delight passers-by...

with fragrance and beauty
bloom flowers of love...
in the garden once planted
by the Master above.

      Absolutely brilliant, the Master guided your quill composing his will. Indeed he cultivates and educates all believers, yet gives us our own free will.

      Like seeds that are planted he watches us grow into weeds or fine oaks and then harvests the bounty he provided from seedlings.

      A beautiful poem for one of life's most glorious endeavors, tilling the soil, no matter by hand or by the machine, a most satisfying task indeed.

      The results are no less glorious than Michelangelo's David. A single flower carries the weight of the world on its tiny little shoulders.
