Gentle April Showers - A Haiku Collection

Updated on March 9, 2014

I love the sound of rain. I don't mind the sound of storms either, but a gently falling rain makes for a perfect quiet day, and it's even better if that rain is falling at night, at bedtime, when the windows are open and can lull me to sleep. Rain is life-giving, sustaining, beautiful and sometimes terrifying. But those April showers that bring May flowers are the wonderful kind of rain. The video comes first as it's basically only sound. Enjoy the soft falling rain while you read the haiku that follow.

Gentle Rain Shower

Tender spring cloudburst,

liquid sunshine, mists young buds,

beckons splashy blooms.

Pacific patter,

rouse kaleidoscopic buds

hope displaces loss.

Mellow mizzle

rejuvenate springtide bulbs

burst forth life.
