Genuine Art

Updated on August 29, 2011

I’ve had many friends come and go

Like a seed our friendship just grows n grows

Friends I do not call the ones that foe

Only I call on the ones who truly show

In such a short period of time

A ladder was placed and you have climbed

Now you leave me here to rhyme

I love to call you my partner in crime

Closer and closer we become each day

Dear God please let her be my best friend, I pray

She is someone I wouldn’t betray

Asking that she never go away

Like a sister to me she has become

Her friend I will be in whatever may come

By her side I won’t shy away from

I can be myself and never feel dumb

Special she is and marked a place in my heart

She has never left me behind right from the start

A major role in my family she plays a part

A friendship established labeled Genuine art

That is a lovely poem Erica. I know how hard it is to find a true friend who sticks to you like glue. So to find that its a blessing. Here is to you and your "partner in crime!" ;-)

How lovely, Bella! Sorry that your friend had to go to the hospital. It wasn't your doing, I feel very sure! Maybe your visit prevented something worse, in fact. Hope she's doing well.

Too many of my very best friends are simply no longer living. - But several of those friendships lasted from our childhoods and never wavered over the years.

What was really lovely was that, if our other lives & locations prevented our seeing each other, even for years, - still - the moment we saw each other and were together again it was like only a few moments had passed! And if either of us ever needed anything - the other was there with it, no questions asked!

One of my best friends whom I've known since 7th grade - (trust me, that's ancient history! ;->) - made me a decoupage wall plaque with these lines on it:

"Oh, the comfort, the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person; having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words, but to pour them all out, just as they are, chaff and grain together, knowing that a faithful hand will take and sift them, keep what is worth keeping, and then, with a breath of kindness, blow the rest away."

Sub, I took a mini break I always do with my mind being so picky and having thoughts of its own its kinda hard, but thank you for paying me the visit.

Card, I had one male friend that I could act like that too but we no longer talk he wanted more than a friendship and I couldnt give him what he wanted when he wanted it he had no patience for me. and I am really sorry about you and your friend its kinda hard when there is a marriage involved :/

I can be myself and never feel dumb!....my favorite line.

I have a friend like that...a male friend. He never judges me and I can be whatever I won't to be around him but my boyfriend will have nothing of it. He forbade him to call me.

Ah Bella, this is so sweet. Best friends are few and far between. Mine lives 300 miles away. But Friday night she and I had a "virtual date." We got on the phone and computer, went to YouTube and watched our old favorites. We drank wine and were up until 3am.

Sadly, she is in hospital today and her daughter says no more dates with me. lol
